What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. Tarmon Gai'don, the Last Battle, looms. And mankind is not ready. Brandon Sanderson, New York Times bestselling author of the Mistborn books, and now Stormlight Archive, among others, was chosen by Jordan's editor--his wife, Harriet McDougal--to complete the final volume, later expanded to three books.

Egwene al'Vere, the Amyrlin Seat of the rebel Aes Sedai, is a captive of the White Tower and subject to the whims of their tyrannical leader.

As days tick toward the Seanchan attack she knows is imminent, Egwene works to hold together the disparate factions of Aes Sedai while providing leadership in the face of increasing uncertainty and despair. Wars were fought for them, and won by them. One such war rages on a ruined landscape called the Shattered Plains. Like his brother, the late king, he is fascinated by an ancient text called The Way of Kings. Across the ocean, an untried young woman named Shallan seeks to train under an eminent scholar and notorious heretic, Dalinar's niece, Jasnah.

Though she genuinely loves learning, Shallan's motives are less than pure. As she plans a daring theft, her research for Jasnah hints at secrets of the Knights Radiant and the true cause of the war. The result of over ten years of planning, writing, and world-building, The Way of Kings is but the opening movement of the Stormlight Archive, a bold masterpiece in the making. Speak again the ancient oaths: Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before Destination. The Knights Radiant must stand again.

Fantastic story and as always Michael Kramer is excellent. This is a 5 star plus story and production. I wish the book was longer and there were sequels! Brandon Sanderson has done it again - namely creating such vivid images in my minds eye and firing up the imaginative spark that lays within. As usual he completely moves me to the land of imagination where nothing is impossible and where no worries can break through!
