This error only exists on my laptop - on my desktop, it works perfectly. I suppose you are getting this error when you work on a document opened from a synced OneDrive folder. In your post you mentioned that you have tried deleting all credentials, please confirm if you have followed the steps below to delete the credentials:. Was this reply helpful?
Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. The error was not resolved removing existing credentials using the credential manager. Clearing the Use Office applications to sync Office files that I open check box is not a solution because I need that feature to work when I collaborate with others - but clearing it does stop the error dialog from showing up, though it also prevents me from using native office apps to collaborate.
If you are still getting the issue after removing Windows credentials from Credentials manager, then please try the suggestion of making some changes in registry as mentioned in the following thread. We noticed that making above changes have fixed issues for multiple customers, please try the suggestion and check if this fixes the issue. Unfortunately, this didnt work. I tried deleting all my credentials with the education email address I have, deleted the registry, and rebooted.
When I rebooted, my Onedrive asked me to sign in, but when I clicked sign in, it automatically did so which means it appears to still be caching my credentials somewhere else. Opening a document in onedrive after the above opened a dialog box asking me to sign in again, but after I did that, it again returns the same error about cached credentials.
Help please! May I know whether the error appears when you open a file from local OneDrive folder or when you open file directly from browser? If the error appears when file is opened from local OneDrive folder, then try this; Open a browser on your Windows computer, go to Office portal and sign in with your work or school account, go to OneDrive for business or SharePoint online library where your documents are stored, open any file in browser. From Office online, click Open in Desktop app on the top of the page, check you get the same error.
Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, the error still exists when I take the steps you outline opening a doc from the browser interface and using the open in desktop app option.
I am currently having the same problem. If you enabled automatic upload, optionally configure the scope it should apply to:. Select Skip external changes to exclude local changes that were made using a third-party tool a VCS, a script, and so on from automatic upload. Select Delete remote files when local are deleted to have PyCharm automatically delete remote files during automatic uploads in case the local ones are deleted.
Note that this option serves as an extra safety measure and may result in unwanted files remaining on the remote server. As an example, consider a local file Foo. Since renaming a file is technically indistinguishable from deleting the file and creating a new one, the following will happen after automatic upload:.
If the option is enabled, the remote server will only contain Bar. If the option is disabled, the remote server will contain both Foo. You will probably need to delete Foo. In the Remote Hosts tool window, select the required file or folder and choose Download from here from the context menu of the selection. Upload and download files PyCharm provides the following main ways to upload project files and folders to deployment servers: Manually , at any time through a menu command.
